AOMB Polska among the friends of Pajacyk!

We are happy and proud to announce that AOMB Polska has just joined the group of friends of Pajacyk (Wooden Puppet) by taking care of protection of its image in Poland and in the European Union.

Unfortunately, the problem of undernourishment still affects a large number of children in our country. Pajacyk is the name of a programme,
conducted for over a decade by the Polish Humanitarian Organization, which has been established to reduce this problem.
The programme is focused on children whose economic situation is difficult and who should be given free meals, but they cannot count on social welfare centres.

Aid reaches children through schools and day-rooms which cooperate with the Polish Humanitarian Organization. Teachers know best, which children may be hungry, because they watch them in the classrooms and during their after-school activities every day. They also know the local environment and situation of individual families. Children more likely come to school or join after-school classes in day-rooms, if they know that there’s a hot meal waiting for them. When they eat their fill, they have more energy to learn or to reach for the book. They can also feel safer because they know that someone cares about them.
2,50 PLN (about 1 USD) is a symbolic amount of money, still sufficient to provide one hot meal to a child and provide such sense of security.

Pajacyk has become one of the most recognized and supported social programmes in Poland. Thanks to the generosity of its donors, the programme was able to buy more than 10 million meals for hungry children (in the years 1998-2009).
